Successful candidates to the Honors Academy display the following qualities:

• Academic aptitude demonstrated through standardized test scores

• High academic achievement in challenging courses consisting of semester averages of As and Bs with no more than one C

• Self-motivated, adaptable to change, and embraces challenge with resiliency

• Respectful to others

• Acts with integrity in all situations

• Satisfactory conduct and attendance

• Adept at conveying ideas in writing and providing supporting examples to strengthen an argument

• Involvement in school and local community and one who enjoys contributing to the Academy community

• Able to communicate with peers, teachers, and community members
